Ben's story-CHAPTER 2
Chapter 2- the birth of an enigma
I awoke to unfamiliar surroundings. Cold steel walls, display monitors, and wires. I looked at the bandaged stump that used to be my right arm. Even the slightest motion sent pain shooting through my body. A scientist leaned over me talking with someone I could not manage to see. Another man walked towards me and the scientist exclaimed "sir! He's awake!" I could not make out any of the other man's features other than he was wearing a military uniform, and was obviously high ranking, seeing as people were calling him sir. So I assumed he was a general.
"Where am I?" I muttered, shocked at how raspy my voice had become. "You're safe son." the general said. "You're an enigma son." he said "you survived a lethal dose of whatever radiation those meteors give off without any side effects" he continued. "My arm" I murmured. "Can you fix it?" I asked hopefully. "More or less" said the general. "But first, we need a favor from you...."
